Almost time to go. The countdown is to our flight departure from SeaTac. Actually, we have to take the shuttle to the airport at 10:15 am. It is about 1 3/4 hours to SeaTac from Cle Elum.
Yesterday and today I have been packing and repacking by paring down. I basically pack like I will be backpacking. If I can't fit it on my back then forget it. This pack is less stressful because I know if I forget something I can just buy it when we arrive. In backpacking that is not the case because what one brings can be critical to one's welfare. I think I have more than enough stuff. I may not make the fashion scene in Oslo but at my age, I get a bye.
Our host at our AirBnB reminded us to dress warmly. Since the forecasted temperatures are relatively similar, I think we have that handled. Layers, layers, layers - that is what it is all about.
Oslo is the capital of Norway and is a bit smaller than Denver so we anticipate it to be a very walk-able city. Bikes would be great but the weather may preclude this. Maybe a fat tire like I ride in the winters in Suncadia? With public transit, I am sure we will have no problem getting around.
A little more that 3 hours we get on the shuttle to begin our journey. In about 18 hours, ( I am optimistic that we will have no delays) we will be going in the door of this darling cottage near the Viking Museum.
